AP's Manyam district to get ₹3 crore more from Niti Aayog
VISAKHAPATNAM: Parvathipuram Manyam district, after getting a good rank in the basic infrastructure theme among the Aspirational Districts Programme, became entitled to receive an additional allocation of ₹3 crores from the Niti Aayog. Niti Aayog additional secretary V. Radha informed the Chief Secretary in this regard, said Parvathipuram district collector Nishant Kumar on Sunday.
Under the Aspirational Districts Programme, Niti Aayog monitors the districts’ progress on key performance indicators and provides performance-based additional allocation to districts securing ranks through the challenge method.
Based on its performance in December 2022, Parvathipuram Manyam district has secured a good rank in the state in the basic infrastructure theme and become entitled to receive an additional allocation of ₹3 crore.
The additional secretary informed that as per the scheme guidelines, the district has to prepare a Plan of Action (POA) or Project Proposal for the allocated funds in consultation with the state and Central incharge officer and send the same to Niti Aayog for final approval by the Empowered Committee of Secretaries constituted for the Aspirational Districts Programme.
Niti Aayog has constituted a Project Management Unit consisting of a team of experts to assist the districts in the formulation of projects.
