Short Intense Rain Spells For Hyderabad, Followed By Hot And Humid Conditions
Hyderabad: Many parts of the city experienced short intense rain spells in the morning hours of Monday with the latter part of the day remaining hot and humid.
Koti, Malakpet, Amberpet, Dilsukhnagar, Saroornagar, Balapur, Vansathalipuram, Meerpet, Nadergul, Midhani, Jillelguda, Gayatrinagar, Karmanghat, LB Nagar and nearby areas received a moderate spell in the morning. Subsequently, Mehdipatnam and Falaknuma reported maximum temperatures of 39.9 degree Celsius.
Across the state, isolated places at Jangaon, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy and Yadadri Bhuvangiri received light to moderate rainfall.
Temperatures continued to be on the higher side with highest maximum temperature at 46.1ºC in Nalgonda, followed by Karimnagar and Mahbubabad at 45.5ºC and Peddapalli at 45.2ºC.
Meanwhile, the state will experience a wayward weather of rains and extreme temperatures in the week ahead due to cyclonic circulations.
As per the IMD, three weather systems — one cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level, cyclonic circulation over Telangana state, which lied over south Telangana state and neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level and the north-south trough ran from cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh to interior Tamil Nadu with embedded cyclonic circulation over Telangana state and Rayalaseema at 0.9 km above mean sea will bring in light to moderate rains or thundershowers as well as hailstorm and thunderstorms. The state will receive light to moderate rains or thundershowers at isolated places in the next five days.
An orange alert has been issued for the hailstorms which are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahbubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri and Nagarkurnool.
The temperatures in all the districts are expected to rise in the orange alert zone of 41ºC-44ºC in the week ahead, indicating intense hot days at the end of the month.
A yellow warning will follow for the next four days as thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds at a speed of about 40 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in the state.
Over the next 48 hours, the sky will be partly cloudy and light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39ºC and 26ºC, respectively with north-westerly surface winds of 8-10 kmph.
