AP Wakf Board seeks Rs 35 crore from Telangana government

The AP Waqf Board has claimed Rs 70 crore from its TS counterpart and has withdrawn about Rs 30 crore from the banks.

Hyderabad: AP Deputy Chief Minister Azmath Basha met the heads of the Wakf Board and the Haj Committee at the Haj House on Friday to discuss issues like as funds transfer.

Mr Basha discussed with Wakf Board chairman Mohammed Saleem the transfer of funds prescribed in the guidelines issued by the Union secretary minorities welfare, under the
scheme for dissolution of the erstwhile AP Wakf Board and for reconstitution of separate institutions for the two states.

The AP Waqf Board has claimed Rs 70 crore from its TS counterpart and has withdrawn about Rs 30 crore from the banks.

The TS Board has transferred Rs 5 crore to the AP board in 2016. The AP Wakf Board is seeking another Rs 35 crore from its TS counterpart.

Mr Saleem assured him of cooperation in resolving the matters amicably.

Mr Basha earlier called on TS Haj Committee chairman Mohammed Masihullah Khan and discussed with him the arrangements for the Haj camp. Mr Masihullah told him that

1,448 persons from AP will embark on the pilgrimage from Hyderabad from July 26.
