Hyderabad: 500 families angry as contractor blocks road with concrete slabs

Hyderabad: As many as 500 families are facing problems after a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contractor concrete-topped the road at Ramsinghpura.

Residents have noticed that the concrete slab placed by the GHMC contractor near BK Bhavan, Karwan, Khairatabad, is blocking their access to the main road which connects them to the Ramsinghpura bus stop, Ring Road and other important places.

They said that this is the main road for them to go to offices and the nearby market but after its closure, it is impossible to go anywhere in their vehicles.

“The nearest hospital is also connected to this road. If a medical emergency arises and an ambulance is unable to come, who is responsible,” said a resident.

“Many residents who work in Mehdipatnam take this road while going to their offices but after this construction we have to take a long detour. It is creating difficulty for daily commuters and school children,” said another resident.
