Adilabad: Villagers climb hill area to avoid floodwater

ADILABAD: The villagers of Sirala village climbed up a nearby hill to avoid the flood water that entered their village due to a breached tank in Bhainsa mandal on Friday. Luckily, all the villagers were reported safe after the incident.

Irrigation officials released the flood water downstream by lifting the seven gates from the Gaddanna Vagu project following the heavy inflows. Road connectivity to the Bhainsa town since the roads leading to Bhaisa were badly affected and washed away in some places. The local tanks received flood water along with the Gaddenna and Suddavagu in the Mudhole Assembly constituency following the heavy rains for the last five days.

In Kubheer mandal, transportation was badly affected when the bridge at the Godisera village was washed away while flood water surrounded the Palsi village. The road was washed away in the floods at Bidrelli in Basar mandal and standing crops Cotton and Soya inundated thousands of acres in Bhainsa division in Nirmal district.
