CPI Demands Action Against Illegal Constructions in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: The CPI North Constituency Committee strongly condemns that Revenue GVMC officials, who are supposed to protect government land, turned a blind eye and cooperated with the land grabbers.
The CPI said that at Greater Visakha Ward 25, in Survey No. 13, next to Reliance Petrol Station, Mathura Nagar, for the past several decades, Rajakas used to carry on their livelihood on this area’s water stream. Later, GVMC constructed a Dhobi Ghat here.
According to CPI, some time ago, one person claimed this land belonged to him and tried to build a construction site. The local residents complained about it, then the revenue officials and the GVMC officials inspected the place and demolished the construction on government land.
After six months later, the same person is carrying out construction. CPI north constituency assistant secretary Neyala Nagabhushanam, district council member Padala Govindu, and locals gave a complaint to the district collector in this regard.
On the occasion, Nagabhushanam said, “Government land worth crores of rupees in the heart of Vizag city is being used for illegal constructions with false documents, and MRO and other officials became slaves to the ruling party.”
He also warned that the CPI would do a direct protest if the government land was not protected.
