Chikkamagaluru: Minister for Kannada and Culture C.T. Ravi announced here on Monday that the Kannada Rajyotsava awards – 2019 were going to 64 people
from the state in recognition of their services in various fields.
The awards will be presented on Rajyothsava Day, November 1, in Bengaluru by Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
The list announced by Mr Ravi, however, did not mention the districts to which the awardees belonged , and if sources are to be believed, he has acted in haste by announcing their names this early.
The awardees are as follows:
Literature: Dr Manjappa Shetty Masagalli. B. Rajashekarapapa, Chandrakanth Karavalli and Dr Saraswathi Chimagalli.
Theatre: Parashuram Siddi, Pal Suidarshan, Hooli Shekar, N. Shivalingaiah, Dr H.K. Ramanath and Bhargavi Narayan.
Music: Chote Rehamat Khan, Nagavalli Nagaraj, Dr Muddumohan and Srinivas Udupa.
Folklore: Neelagararu Doddagavisiddappa Manteswami Paramapare, Holabasaiah Dundaiah Sambalada, Bheemsingh Sakaram Rathod, Usman Sab Khadar Sab, Kotresh Chennabasappa Kotrappanavara and K.R. Holsalaiah.
