Hyderabad: Adil Shariff, general secretary of the Indian National Municipal and Local Bodies Federation of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) has been elected Titular of PSI for the Asia Pacific Regional Executive Committee. The elections were held during the 31st Public Services International (PSI) World Congress held in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 12 to 18.
Shariff extended gratitude to Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy, former Rajya Sabha member and Intuc president, for reposing faith in him. After returning from Geneva, Shariff visited the residence of Dr Sanjeeva Reddy and thanked him.
Shariff, who started his career as a trade union activist in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in 2007, is the working president of the Municipal Sahakar Mazdoor Union, Intuc, and general secretary of the Indian National Municipal and Local Bodies Federation. He will now represent the Public Services International, Asia Pacific Region in the World PSI.
