Celebrate the festival of democracy on Nov. 30: CEC to Telangana voters
The Election Commission of India has appealed to the voters in Telangana to compulsorily exercise their franchise on November 30. For this, the ECI released a video showcasing how people of various sections in the society from labourers to the middle-class and literate have exercised their franchise at various polls in the nation.
Even tribals and working class people showed their stained index finger indicating that they had voted to candidates of their choice.

In the wake of the elections, the ECI also directed various offices and organisations to declare a holiday on November 30 to enable to the voters exercise their franchise.
The video was released to enhance voter participation in the democracy, as part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).
