TRS seeks land to build another office in city
Hyderabad: TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has decided to reorganise the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan at Banjara Hills, to create space for visitors and office bearers.
The building at present has a room for party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and a waiting hall for visitors. Much of the 40,000 square feet space in the building is occupied by T News, the official media channel of the party.
Because of this, there was no space for an office for Mr Rama Rao in the headquarters. For now, party officials have partitioned off the waiting hall for Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s visitors and created space for the working president.
In contrast, NTR Bhavan, headquarters of the Telugu Desam, office-bearers have separate rooms. The building provides accommodation for party workers who come on party work.
Mr Rama Rao is now considering shifting the T News office from Telangana Bhavan to some other place. He wants to provide rooms to stay for party workers who come from the districts on party work.
After shifting the T News office out, TRS office bearers will be provided with separate rooms. The party head office also has no parking place, and visitors have to park their vehicles on the road sides. When there is a large number of vehicles, it leads to a traffic jam.
The TRS has also decided to construct a city party office in Hyderabad. For this, it has applied to the state government to provide an acre adjacent to Telangana Bhavan.
After construction of the TRS city office there is a proposal to construct a sky walk to connect it with the party headquarters. If the government allots this land, the parking problems at Telangana Bhavan also will be solved.
The TRS has also decided to construct party offices in all district headquarters. In some districts, the government has allotted land as well.
Mr Rama Rao in his district tours from January 3 will lay the foundation stone for the party offices in some of the towns where the land has been allotted.
