Belagavi: The rivalry between the BJP and Congress in Belagavi is hotting up on social media sites. A video clip showing BJP candidate from Belagavi North constituency, Anil Benake, in a compromising position with a woman has gone viral on Whatsapp and Youtube.
The same clip, which showed Benake with the woman on a beach in Goa, had been viewed by many on social media sites a few months ago. The video shows Benake playing with the woman on the beach and lifting her in his arms in the water. The video also talks about allegations of shady land deals involving Benake and shares some documents pertaining to the land deals.
The video clip has reached several important politicians and senior officers, including the deputy commissioner, SP and police commissioner. Mr Benake, who is an advocate, said that the video has been doctored and he never did such a thing in his life.
