Hyderabad: A truck caught fire after it came into contact with a high tension cable while unloading construction debris at Laxmiguda on Monday. Driver Ismail did not see the cables and operated the hydraulic system. The truck was damaged. Ismail suffered serious burns and is critical.
Ismail, 40, a resident of Mailardevpally, was collecting the debris of a collapsed house and dumping it in an open plot near Bulbulkunta lake. Ismail suffered 38 per cent burns and fell down from the vehicle. Soon the truck was on fire. “He is critical. We can know details only if he speaks,” inspector A. Sudheer Kumar said of Mailardevpally said.
