Smartly attired Tamil Nadu CM signs MoUs in London
Chennai: On an ambitious overseas trip to woo foreign investors to Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has begun his London lap on a positive note in discussing joint projects and getting MoUs inked. The smart-suited 'farmer' was accompanied by Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar and senior officials to assist.
Prominent among the MoUs signed in the presence of Mr Palaniswami is with the King's College London, to establish a branch of the college in Tamil Nadu. Immediately upon his arrival in London, the Chief Minister and his delegation visited the International Skills Development Corporation (ISKC) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to partner with the UK based ISKC to impart skills to the healthcare professionals in Tamil Nadu. Besides the Health Minister, Health Secretary Dr. Beela Rajesh was present on the occasion.
Also, the CM visited the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and exchanged a statement of intent to gain better standards to control communicable disease in the State.
Mr. Palaniswami visited the London Ambulance Service NHS to study the functioning of the ambulance service so that its success model could be replicated in Tamil Nadu to save several precious lives of humans involved in road accidents. He also visited the call centre attached to the NHS.
