NIA court adjourns Jagan attack case to September 6
Visakhapatnam: The NIA designated court in Vizag city on Tuesday adjourned the case of the alleged attack on Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to September 6. The bail petition of the accused in the case, Janupalli Srinivasa Rao alias Srinu, was also postponed to the same date.
The petition in which Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy sought exemption from personal appearance would also be heard on that date.
So far, the accused has filed seven bail petitions, but the court has rejected them all. His lawyer, Salim Abdus, said that he has once again moved the bail petition and asked the judge to conduct the case on a daily basis.
Earlier, several Dalit activists were taken into preventive custody on Monday night and in the early hours of Tuesday as they planned to stage a dharna at Gandhi statue near RTC Complex demanding the release of the accused in the case J. Srinivas on bail as he had spent five years in jail.
