CID summons Lokesh on October 4 in Amaravati IRR case
VIJAYAWADA: As suspected for long, the AP CID has served a notice to Telugu Desam national general-secretary N. Lokesh in New Delhi on Saturday under Section 41-A of CrPC, directing that he should present himself at the CID office in Tadepalli of Guntur district at 10 am on October 4.
The notice is in connection with anomalies in alignment of Amaravati Inner Ring Road. It lists Lokesh as accused number 14. The CID sleuths served the notice to Lokesh in New Delhi in the office of TD MP Galla Jayadev on 50 Ashoka Road.
The AP CID officials informed the media that they discussed some details with Lokesh pertaining to the case. In turn, the TD leader expressed his willingness to cooperate with the CID in its ongoing inquiry in the case.
The notice served on Lokesh has cautioned that failure to attend / comply with the notice can render him liable for arrest under Section 41 A (3) and (4) of CrPC. It also directed him not to tamper with evidence or make any threat, inducement or promise to any person to dissuade them from disclosing facts.
The TD national general-secretary has been asked to produce bank account details of Heritage Foods Private Limited, book containing minutes of the board meeting related to land transactions and payment details of land transactions. He has been asked not to destroy any evidence relevant to the purpose of inquiry / trial of the case.
TD MP K. Ram Mohan Naidu told Deccan Chronicle, “Our party leader Lokesh has been camping in Delhi and consulting legal experts to get our party president N. Chandrababu Naidu released from jail. We are ready for a legal battle. We will come out clean, as we are fighting for justice.”
