N Uttam Kumar Reddy promises to look into Gulf workers welfare if voted
NIZAMABAD: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Gulf workers welfare corporation will be set up and facilitation centres will come up in Hyderabad and Dubai, if the Congress led People Front government is voted to power in the state.
“Gulf workers from Telangana state are living in inhuman conditions. We will earmark Rs 500 crore in budget to the welfare of Gulf migrant workers” he added.
Speaking at the election campaign meeting in Armoor on Thursday, TPCC chief said that under the TRS rule, Gulf workers were completely neglected. Mr Uttam also assured that the Nizam Sugars Factory would be reopened if the Congress government is voted to power.
He listed out that '2 lakh crop loan waiver to the farmers, unemployment allowance, remunerative prices for 17 crops and welfare for bidi workers would be looked into. Mr Uttam further assured that that long pending demand of a Turmeric Board would also fulfilled.
Reacting to the placards displayed by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti activists, he assured categorisation of Scheduled Castes.
TJS chief Kodandaram said that efforts to change the attitude of TRS government has been futile. “Telangana state will flourish if TRS government is removed” he said. Mr Kodandaram further said that a machinery would be set up to look after the implementation of the poll promises in the new government.
Meanwhile, Balladeer Gaddar enthralled the audience with songs. AICC spokesman Madhu Yashki, TD senior leaders-Mandava Venkateshwara Rao, A. Annapurnamma, Armoor, Balkonda MLA candidates Akula Lalitha, Eravathri Anil and others also spoke on the occasion.
