Hyderabad: Post-facelift, West Zone the place to be

Post-beautification, some movie scenes are filmed here.

Hyderabad: The Naac route leading to Hyderabad International Convention centre (HICC) has become the most sought-after destination for local throngs after the beautification done for the Global Entrepreneurs Summit.

The 3D painting on the wall of Madhapur flyover, theme-based painting done on the pillar and traditional art on the Gachibowli flyover and Ayyappa underpass have become an attraction for thousands.

Another attraction is the Deccani painting done on the Hitec City. The road leading to HICC has state-of-the-art benches, well-crafted flower pots and multiple currency symbols.

Post-beautification, a couple of movie scenes too have been shot on the road.
West Zone municipal commissioner Hari Chandana Dasari said, “Hyderabad has grown beyond Hitec City. Rapid growth has been recorded in Serilingampally, Chandanagar up to Patancheruvu and Chandrapur. In 2017 alone, GHMC received Rs 700 crore in revenue from building permits, of which Rs 400 crore were contributed by applicants from the West Zone. About 70 per cent colonies are gated communities, the rest being hospitals, hotels and corporate buildings.

The youngest zone in Greater Hyderabad houses one of the largest private company’s warehouses and animation hub.”

The West Zone also is a home to settlers from surrounding states working in IT-enabled services and IT companies.

A lot of music shows, food festivals and exhibitions are held in these pockets.
The new attractions in 2018 in West Zone will be a Play Park coming up at Kukatpally likely to be equipped with courts for pickle-ball and beach volleyball.

The sports stadium at Khajaguda with four badminton courts and eight acres of walking track will be open for the public in the coming year.
