Hyderabad: Rented places in posh residential areas and open websites are now used by brothel organisers to run the business, where the organiser nabbed is as young as 22 or 23-years-old.
Wikisexguide.com is one such website active since 2013 which answers every question about the racket and tells the visitor where to go and how much it charges. The other most common one used is Locanto.
Explaining the process of this racket, Rachakonda Special Operations Team inspector, Malkajgiri Zone, G. Naveen Kumar said, “They put up an advertisement on websites with half naked pictures of escorts and when a customer approaches them via a call, he is asked to pay 50 per cent and is given the contact number of an escort to chat up with on WhatsApp. Then, a time and date is fixed according to their convenience and a cab is taken by the pimp and the escort to the place. Later, the rest of the amount is paid.”

Earlier last week, SOT officials of Rachakonda conducted a raid along with Nacharam police and nabbed two brothel organisers and one customer and rescued two victims from a residential place. In August last year, a raid was conducted among residential areas of Bowenpally by the North Zone Task Force team who busted an organised brothel and apprehended the 24-year-old organiser and two customers. Officials seized cash, six packets of condoms and three mobile phones from them. Police also rescued three victims from the place, and were later handed over to shelter homes.
After the constant crackdowns last year, the organisers became cautious and have started taking precautionary measures. “The gangs started using professional methods to deal with clients. Once a client contacts them on the phone numbers available online, the agent confirms if the customer is genuine. When he comes to the service at a hotel, he is asked about the place and the hotel reception is called to check if the person has actually checked in. After confirming, he calls again, and then gives details of the woman and payment,” said a senior official from the Task Force team, adding that the organisers started contacting their counterparts in other states, asking them to ‘exchange’ victims for a week or month and prepared a rotational schedule.
City police officials say that owners of the phone numbers are often dead people as the SIM cards are purchased with fake identity cards. Once contacted, the agent either sends photos of the girl through WhatsApp or gives URLs of blogs containing the photographs, police officials said. A large number of sex workers are from Kolkata and Mumbai.
