Hyderabad: MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi is not only focusing on minorities in the elections, but approaching poor communities to attract their votes.
Mr Owaisi assured the washerman community of help to resolve their issues. He was addressing a meeting organised by the Telangana Rajaka (Dhobi) Development Organisation at Wahidnagar in the Malakpet segment.
He said that including the Rajaka Samaj into Scheduled Caste was not an easy task, but he would present the claim before Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao after the elections. He would also discuss with him issues like providing due share to the community in the double bedroom scheme, establishment of Gurukul schools for the community’s children, financial aid to the youth and benefits under the Dwcra scheme.
Mr Owaisi said that out of 36 dhobi ghats from Puranapul to Golnaka, 34 fell under Hyderabad Parliament constituency. He was informed that Rs 11 lakh would be required for developing a dhobi ghat.
