Surveyors to hit streets in June to get AP pulse

The pulse survey is likely to commence from June 15, said J. Satyanarayana, IT Adviser to the state government.

Hyderabad: A pulse survey will be conducted in AP from third week of June in different phases over 36 days, wherein enumerators would visit each household to record socioeconomic details.

The pulse survey gains significance in the wake of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announcing that the results of the survey would be given to Manjunath Commission for determining Kapu reservation. The state will also take a decision on reservations for poor in other upper castes based on the survey findings.

Mr Naidu said the pulse survey will be taken up in June and will be helpful in deciding reservations. AP cabinet meeting to be held on June 1 on Wednesday will decide on the dates of the survey.

The pulse survey is likely to commence from June 15, said J. Satyanarayana, IT Adviser to the state government.

“It will be in different phases in the span of a month as we have to cover lakhs of households in the state,” he said.

The data focus would be to get details such as occupation, employment and educational qualifications. The state will converge the date from pulse survey with that of existing AP State Resident Hub that has been Aadhar seeded.

“In some departments we have 90 per cent Aadhar seeding. In some it is 70-80 per cent," said Mr Satyanarayana.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet meet on June 1 will also decide on land deal with Singapore companies’ consortium as development partner for Amaravati capital.
