Drone on Survey of Reliance Gas Pipeline Crashlands in Nalgonda
Hyderabad: Shali Gouraram police, who seized a five-foot-long drone that crashlanded at a farmland, have identified it as belonging to a private agency for surveying the Reliance gas pipeline.
Sub-inspector Uppala Sateesh said that they received information from farmers, who were scared after seeing the drone. On rushing to the place, police noticed that the drone was five feet long and weighed 15 kg.
"The samples were sent to Hyderabad for verification. Meanwhile, some people from Astria firm approached us and informed us that they have operated the drone to survey the Reliance gas pipeline, which is passing from Kakinada to Gujarat," the SI said.
The Astria company staff used the drone to inspect if there was any construction on the pipeline of Reliance gas and possible damages. Due to the hot summer and overheating, the drone crash-landed in Gouraram.
"On verification, we found that Astria possessed proper permission to operate drones in the area," the SI said.
The drone was handed over to Astria representatives.
