State to Have Rains for Next Four Days
Hyderabad: The city experienced heavy thunderstorms with scattered rains late Wednesday afternoon.
Banjara Hills, Hitec City, Jubilee Hills, Suncity, Bandlaguda Jagir, Narsingi, Attapur, Langer Houz, Nanal Nagar, Toli Chowki, Nanakranguda, Gachibowli, Mehditpatnam, Manikonda, Kukatpally, Nizampet, Quthbullapur, Miyapur, JNTU, Kapra, Uppal, OU, LB Nagar, Lingampally, Khajaguda, Gajularamaram and Erragadda received light to moderate spells for a short span. The weather cooled down towards evening with a partly cloudy sky.
Other parts of the state also recorded light to rainfall with thunderstorm at isolated places in the districts of Mahbubnagar, Medchal Malkajgiri, Jangaon, Nagarkurnool, Rangareddy, Jangaon, Sangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Nalgonda and Vikarabad.
As for the mercury levels, all 33 districts remained in the orange category as maximum temperatures ranged from 40.2 to 44.4 degrees. Suryapet remained the hottest district with 44.4 degree, followed by Nalgonda at 44.3 degree and Peddapalli at 43.8 degree.
The city recorded the highest maximum temperatures of 40.2 degree at Patancheru, Shaikpet and Ramachandrapuram.
As per IMD, a trough was passing from west Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Marathwada and north interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level along with the prevailing low-level westerlies and north-westerlies will bring in more rains in the days ahead.
Light to moderate rains or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over the state in the next four days and lightning along with gusty winds of around 40 kmph.
Temperatures are likely to drop around 36-40 degree for the next three days with a yellow alert for maximum districts. Some districts will have temperatures around 41-44 degree.
In the next 48 hours, the city will experience partly cloudy sky and light to moderate rains and thunder showers are likely to occur towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39 and 26 degree, respectively with north-westely surface winds of 6-8kmph speeds and a relative humidity of 56%.
