Prabhakar Reddy stable, says hospital
Hyderabad: Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Medak MP and BRS candidate from Dubbak, is “stable” but will be closely monitored in the critical care unit for two or three days, according to a medical bulletin issued on his condition by Yashoda Hospital.
Prabhakar Reddy was admitted to the hospital on Monday afternoon after he was stabbed by a man while campaigning in Surampalli in Doultabad mandal of Siddipet district.
The BRS leader is concious, “verbalising and recuperating from the major surgery,” the hospital said. He is on broad spectrum antibiotics, pain medication and IV fluids. He provided food by the mouth; the doctors have advised that he be given sips of water.
The team treating the MP will reassess his progress and take a decision on gradually introducing a liquid oral diet. “He is hemodynamically stable with no fever as on date, without any significant pain, other than at surgical site,” the hospital said.
Finance minister T. Harish Rao who visited the hospital to check on Prabhakar Reddy, said it was unfortunate that some opposition parties were seeking to trivialise the attack.
