Ban on CVOs Using Words Council, Commission
Vijawada: Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies has prohibited non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Andhra Pradesh from using words “council and commission” in the names of their organisations.
According to an official press release issued on Tuesday, several complaints have come to the department’s notice over the consumer voluntary organisations (CVOs) using words like council and commission in the names of their organisations.
Any CVOs using council and commission words in names of their organisations will be treated as illegal. The department directed CVOs to remove the words council and commission. “Otherwise, necessary action will be taken against such organisations,” the press release warned.
