CS Santhi Kumari: Ensure Books, Uniforms in Govt Schools by June 12
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari held a video conference with district collectors on Friday and reviewed the progress of works taken up under the Amma Adarsha Paatasaala for improving basic facilities in government schools and stitching of school uniforms ahead of the reopening of schools, and issues relating to the procurement of paddy.
While complimenting the collectors for bringing the Amma Adarsha Paatasaala programme to a good level, the Chief Secretary underscored the need to complete the works before the schools reopen on June 12. She asked the collectors to ensure that every child was given notebooks, textbooks and one pair of school uniforms on the school re-opening day.
She directed that minor repair works, electrification, toilets, drinking water, painting and furniture works at schools should be monitored to ensure that the quality of the work was maintained.
On paddy procurement, Santhi Kumari asked the collectors to ensure that lifting of paddy was expedited to ensure that all the harvest was purchased. Collectors should explore ways for fast movement of paddy from procurement centres to mills. She appreciated the quick response of some district collectors in handling rain-soaked paddy and drying them and asked others to emulate the same so that no farmer is put to a loss.
Principal secretaries Navin Mittal (revenue), D.S. Chowhan (civil Supplies), Sandeep Kumar Sultania (PR&RD), B. Venkatesham (education), municipal administration director D. Divya, PR&RD commissioner Anitha Ramachandran and other officials attended the video conference.
