Stars foretell good times ahead for BRS, but with some riders

HYDERABAD: The stars had some good news for the BRS party during Krodhi, the Telugu new year that began on Tuesday. During the Panchanga Sravanam at Telangana Bhavan, the predictions pointed to success for the BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao with the Panchanga Kartha, Praneeth Kumar, saying Chandrashekar Rao’s Moon sign of Karkataka (Cancer), indicates that leaders born under this sign, will have great support and will also be unstoppable. Politicians who fall under this sign will have good support, Praneeth Kumar said, adding a note of caution on the health and travel fronts for those under this sign.

And for Makara Raasi (Capricorn) which is the BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s Moon sign, there was good news too with predictions of increase in authority and command, and under whose leadership, the party and the people will have gains. Those who feel they have been kept away for various reasons, will come together for those under this sign, Praneeth Kumar said, adding that it would be beneficial to pay attention to what a person under this sign says, a comment that brought a subtle smile and an even more subtle nod from Rama Rao.

Overall, for politicians gearing up for the coming Lok Sabha elections, the path ahead shows mixed signs indicating a possible close contest, Praneesh Kumar predicted. While the ruling side will have to work hard, the opposition can achieve success if it bends its back and works with determination, he said.

In general, the year could well see some natural disasters in the form of earthquakes in the eastern and north eastern parts of the country, the predictions went. And for those who cannot get away from their gadgets such as mobile phones, Praneeth Kumar had this to say: “There could be some impacts on technology this year, phones and gadgets may stop working for a while.”

He also said there was some chance for communal strife, tempers could flare at the borders, there could be landslides in lower Himalayan reaches such as in Uttarakhand, and that there could be food shortages towards the middle of the year that could result in price rise including that of milk as fodder for cattle could become scarce.

On the plus side, this year will see good rains resulting in a good agricultural year, and though the world might witness an economic recession, India would be spared of this, Praneeth Kumar predicted.

Rama Rao, in a brief message at the end of the Panchanga Sravanam, greeted all the Telugus across the world and wished that the new year would usher in peace, prosperity, and fulfilment to all. "Today is not the time for politics," Rama Rao said, adding that "let this new year bring good rains and ensure good tidings for the agriculture sector and we should all have a year without any communal tensions."

The Ugadi celebrations at Telangana Bhavan were attended by several senior BRS leaders including former Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, former ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, several party legislators, and others.
