Post-Poll Violence in Murshidabad Leaves One Injured

BJP workers allegedly ransacked and forcibly occupied a Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office in the Padamkandi area

Murshidabad: Fresh incidents of post-poll violence were reported from Murshidabad district, escalating tensions among political parties in the region.

According to reports, a CPI(M) worker, Safikul Islam, sustained a bullet injury on Tuesday night in the Domkal area. He was allegedly intercepted by armed miscreants while riding his motorcycle, following which multiple rounds were fired at him. He has been admitted to Berhampore Medical College Hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.

In a separate incident, BJP workers allegedly ransacked and forcibly occupied a Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office in the Padamkandi area under the Khargram Assembly constituency.

Additionally, reports from Jiaganj indicate that a statue of Vladimir Lenin was vandalised, allegedly by BJP supporters, further intensifying political tensions in the district.
