Campaign Ends for Lok Sabha 2024 Elections

New Delhi: The high-octane campaigning for the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections on June 1 ended on Thursday. This marks the end of the Lok Sabha elections campaign in the country.

In the last phase on June 1, polling will be conducted in 57 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs), covering seven States and a Union Territory of Chandigarh. As many as 904 candidates are in the fray in the final phase of election.
Thirteen seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight seats in Bihar, half a dozen in Odisha, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh are going to polls tomorrow. Simultaneously, 42 assembly seats in Odisha will also go to polls. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his message for voters of Varanasi, ahead of the seventh phase of polls, said, "For me, Kashi is a city of devotion, power and detachment. Kashi is the cultural capital of the world, the land of music.”
“Being the representative of this city is possible only with the immense grace of Baba Vishwanath and the blessings of you Kashi residents. This time's election for Kashi is an election for the creation of not only 'Navkashi' but also a developed India,” he added.
The people of Kashi have to make a new record on June 1. Kashi has become the capital of youth welfare and development in the last 10 years. “I remember, on the day of my nomination, the youths were very excited. Now this enthusiasm should be seen at every booth, this is my request,” he said.
