In a shocking incident, a Sub-Inspector of Uttarakhand Police raped a yoga trainer on gunpoint for months on pretext of probing a theft complaint filed by her. The woman was threatened to remain silent.
The woman registered a theft complaint in Rajpur police station. In her complaint, she said that her maid stole jewelry worth Rs 20 lakh from jewelry box. The woman said the investigation was handed over to the accused SI, who was the outpost in-charge of Kuthalgate under Rajpur police station.
During the investigation, Manoj Bhatt took her to naintal on pretext of visiting High Court with regard to the case and raped her at gunpoint in a hotel room, she alleged.
The Cop was transfered to post of Mayur Vihar outpost in-charge in Raipur police station area and even after the transfer, the accused SI raped her at gunpoint in a rented flat, said woman.
The accused SI, Manoj Bhatt, has been suspended and investigation has been initiated against him.
