Fake Cardiologist Linked to Ex-Chhattisgarh Speaker’s Death Arrested
Narendra John Camm, accused of posing as a heart specialist, allegedly performed fatal surgery on Rajendra Prasad Shukla in 2006

A man posing as a cardiologist, now under investigation for seven patient deaths at a missionary hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, is also accused of operating on former Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukla in 2006 — a surgery after which Shukla died, his son claimed on Monday.
The alleged fake doctor, Narendra John Camm, also known as Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, was arrested from Uttar Pradesh. He is facing charges of forgery and misappropriation for allegedly holding a fake medical degree.
Shukla’s son Pradeep Shukla alleged that Yadav operated on his father at Apollo Hospital, Bilaspur, in 2006. “He was introduced as a top cardiologist, but we later learned he was a fraud. My father died after 18 days on a ventilator,” he said, claiming other patient deaths followed.
Apollo Hospital confirmed Yadav worked there nearly two decades ago. Authorities in Bilaspur have now sought complete records of his employment, qualifications, and surgeries performed. Bilaspur CMHO Dr Pramod Tiwari said if irregularities are found, a high-level probe will follow. Justice (Retd.) Anil Shukla, also a son of the late speaker, demanded an FIR against both Yadav and the hospital.
