Mumbai: For the first time, popular film actor Akshay Kumar, 56, exercised his franchise during Lok Sabha elections polling in Mumbai on Monday.
Showing indelible ink mark on his finger after casting his vote, he said, “I want my India to be developed and strong. I voted keeping that in mind. India should vote for what they deem is right...I think voter turnout will be good...”
Actor Akshay Kumar had Canada citizenship but in August 2023, he secured Indian citizenship paving the way for casting his vote during polling in Mumbai. Maharashtra registered 15.93 per cent voting by 11 am.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
