Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday dismissed a writ petition filed by a student, who took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission into undergraduate medical and dental courses, after it was found that she enclosed forged documents.
A bench of the Allahabad High Court dismissed the petition after examining the original documents submitted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It was found that the documents submitted by the petitioner were forged. Dismissing the plea the bench said, "Be that as it may, this is really sorry state of affairs that the petitioner filed a petition enclosing therewith the forged and fictitious documents, therefore, this Court can not restrain the competent authority to take any legal action against the petitioner strictly in accordance with law."
The advocate standing for the student had requested the bench to permit the petitioner not to press the petition. Following this submission, the court has dismissed the plea as 'not being pressed.'
The petitioner had submitted that she received communication from the NTA saying her "OMR sheet was torn" and due to which her result cannot be declared. In her plea, she demanded a manual evaluation along with an inquiry against the NTA. The student further requested the court to freeze the admission counselling while her petition is pending.
Interestingly, the National Testing Agency has told the court that it is considering legal action against the student.
