Hemant Soren to Take Oath as Jharkhand CM today at 5 PM
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) executive president Hemant Soren will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time at 5 pm today, reported PTI citing Ally Congress state president Rajesh Thakur.
INDIA bloc leaders including JMM executive president Hemant Soren met Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi on July 4. The Governor Thursday appointed Hemant Soren as the nominated Chief Minister and invited him to take the oath.
On Wednesday evening, Champai Soren resigned from the Jharkhand Chief Minister post making way for the JMM executive president Hemant Soren. Champai Soren met the Governor to tender his resignation.
The decision on the leadership change was made after INDIA alliance MLAs and leaders reached a consensus at a meeting held in Ranchi.
Hemant Soren had resigned from the Chief Minister post just before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money-laundering case on January 31.
Jharkhand High Court granted bail to the JMM leader and he was released from jail on June 28.
