High-octane Campaign in AP by Political Leaders Ends
Vijayawada: Leaders of ruling and opposition parties created a storm in Vijayawada city with their campaign on Saturday, the last day of electioneering in AP, as stipulated by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The city witnessed rallies, processions and public meetings in East, Central and West Assembly constituencies of Vijayawada.
However, the high-octane campaign in the city as well as the state ended as the clock struck 6 on Saturday evening.
In the West constituency, YSRCP MLA candidate Sk. Asif, along with YSRCP Vijayawada MP candidate Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi took out a huge roadshow from Nizam Gate. Amid crowds, the procession traversed through thoroughfares of Chittinagar Tunnel, Kummaripalem and Church Centre before culminating at the Panja Centre.
Similarly, TD-JSP-BJP alliance candidate Sujana Chowadary ended his last leg of election campaigning on a high note along with TDP MP nominee Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) and TD leader Vangaveeti Radha in the West assembly constituency.
Sujana Chowdary started his last day of election campaigning from the BJP office and concluded it at KR Market via Kummaripalem, Vidyadharapuram and Chittinagar.
In Central constituency, YSRCP, NDA alliance, and INDIA bloc candidates Velampalli Srinivas Rao, Bonda Uma and Ch. Babu Rao are locked in a triangular contest. The three ended their campaigns with big rallies and door-to-door visits in the constituency.
Sitting MLA and State Planning Board vice chairman Malladi Vishnu and AP State Fibernet’s P. Gowtham Reddy participated in a huge roadshow held from Kandrika to Daba Kotlu Centre along with Central MLA candidate Velampalli Srinivas and MP candidate Kesineni Nani, appealing to people to vote for YSRCP to ensure continuation of welfare and development in the state.
Bonda Uma and Babu Rao conducted roadshows and rallies in Governorpet and Arundelpet areas and met voters in the Central constituency.
YSRC East candidate Devineni Avinash campaigned in Sunnapubattila Centre, Machavaram and SRR College areas under the East constituency.
Gadde Ram Mohan Rao, who is the alliance MLA candidate, conducted his “Praja Deevena” election campaigning in Moghalarajpuram area with TDP, JSP and BJP cadres accompanying the TD candidate in large numbers.
