Atchannaidu Slams CM on Pension
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam AP state unit president, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, on Monday stated that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has come to power by making a promise that he would pay Rs 3,000 pension per month and would revise it every year, shunned it after assuming power and failed to pay at least Rs 30,000 to each pensioner.
In a press release, Atchannaidu said, “Now, even in the letter addressed to the pensioners, Jagan uttering the same blatant lies.”
Pointing out that Chandrababu Naidu after coming to power in 2014 as the Chief Minister of state increased the pension amount to Rs 2,000 from Rs 200, Atchannaidu said that even the number of pensioners too increased from 34 lakh to 54.5 lakh during this period. But Jagan Mohan Reddy has till now increased the pension only by Rs 750 and shamelessly claiming that he has done a great job for the pensioners, he said.
Also, during the TD regime, Naidu allowed the pensioners to draw their pension amount from anywhere, but now, Jagan Mohan Reddy released a GO imposing certain conditions that the pensioners should stay within 15 km radius.
Atchannaidu deplored that notices were served on the beneficiaries that only one person from a family is eligible for the pension. Though the budgetary estimates are over Rs 12 lakh crore for pensioners, he pointed out that Jagan has sanctioned pensions only to 10 lakh persons.
