Over 9.92 Lakh Applications Received During Praja Palana
HYDERABAD: Since the commencement of Praja Palana in the GHMC limits and Secunderabad cantonment Assembly constituency, around 9.92 lakh applicants have been received till date. After Monday’s break, issue of forms will continue on Tuesday and run up to January 6.
As for the city, the total number of applications for the Abhaya Hastham stood at 8.46 lakh. The remaining applications were related to other issues like ration cards.
“Incidentally, we did not receive applications pertaining to Rythu Bharosa. We received forms for the other five schemes like ration cards and civic issues,” said a GHMC official.
He further said that they were also accepting requests that are not part of Abhaya Hastham on a white paper.
The GHMC is divided into six zones and the highest number of Abhaya Hastham applications were received in Charminar zone (2.4 lakh), followed by Kukatpally (1.71 lakh) and Secunderabad (1.6 lakh).
Around 650 Praja Palana centers have been set up in the 150 GHMC wards and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment to facilitate the process.
The GHMC has printed 40 lakh application forms in English, Telugu and Urdu; GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose has urged the general public not to buy application forms from private people, who will be dealt with strictly if found selling application forms.
