Telangana Collecting Data About Tenant Farmers
ADILABAD: The Congress government in Telangana is collecting data under the Praja Palana programme about tenant farmers as also small and marginal farmers having their own land but taking others' land on lease for cultivation.
Officials point out that a column has been provided in the application about farmers and tenant farmers under Abhaya Hastam.
“The government would use the data being collected about tenant farmers under Abhaya Hastam as part of the Praja Palana. This will be used to select the tenant farmers to extend them financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa.”
The Rythu Swaraya Vedika is creating awareness among the tenant farmers about how to furnish details about them in the application.
In this column, details are to be written about the farmer and tenant farmer, the land they owned and also the Pattadar passbook and survey number of the land being cultivated. The name of the farmer or tenant farmer, details about the pattadar passbook and about the land they were cultivating are to be explained in this column.
In another column, details were asked about agriculture labourers to enable them get the financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year.
B Kondal Reddy, a representative of Rythu Swarajya Vedika, said farmers should provide accurate information in these columns. The tenant farmers must put a tick in the tenant farmer box and give details about the survey number of the land they took on lease and cultivating.
According to rough estimates, there are 15 lakh tenant farmers in TS, of which 1,17,268 are in the erstwhile Adilabad district including 28, 763 in Adilabad district, 33,212 in Nirmal, 28,584 in Mancherial and 26754 in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. There are 1,64124 farmers in the Adilabad district.
