Dancing TRS leader dies during Kavitha's procession
WARANGAL: Tragedy struck the tour programme of MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha when a TRS leader dancing in a procession taken out to welcome Kavitha died of cardiac arrest near Padmanayaka Kalyana Mandapam in Jagtial district on Saturday.
BRS had organised an Atmeeya Sammelan in which MLC Kavitha was to participate. Party leaders organised a grand procession with party workers dancing to drum beats to welcome Kavitha, who had come to Jagtial district for the first time after being questioned by Enforcement Department officials in connection with the Delhi liquor scam.
BRS party Rythu Samithi district unit president Bandari Narendar (53), husband of councillor Bandari Rajini, was among those dancing in the procession as it neared the New Bus Stand, where Kavitha was to garland the well-decorated Telugu Talli Statue.
However, Narendar suddenly suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed while dancing. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared that he had already died.
The Atmeeya Sammelan that had started in presence of Kavitha, minister Koppula Eshwar, MLCs Kavitha and L. Ramana, MLAs Sanjay Kumar, Vidhyasagar Rao and Ravi Shankar, and ZP chairperson Dava Vasantha was adjourned after observing a two-minute silence in memory of the departed leader.
Later, all TRS leaders headed by MLC Kavitha visited the house of Narendar and consoled his family members.
