Mann ki Baat mentioners from TS share success stories
HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned several persons from Telangana and their achievements during the course of his Mann ki Baat, which completed 100 months on Sunday. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan felicitated seven of the achievers at a special screening of the programme at Raj Bhavan, to mark the ‘century’ of Mann ki Baat.
Malavath Poorna, who scaled Mt Everest at age 13, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a friendly person. I spent almost 45 minutes with him in New Delhi and felt very happy with the interaction. I felt very anxious before meeting the Prime Minister, interacting with him increased my confidence level. Modi gives the utmost importance to sportspersons. When I was in school, I scaled Mount Everest but never thought I would meet the Prime Minister.
Kurella Vittalacharya of Ramannapet in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district said that he began a library with 5,000 books which grew to 2 lakh titles. I was very happy when Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted about my initiative in Mann ki Baat. I was surprised to hear his words. He donated his property to build the library.
Handloom weaver Yeldi Hari Prasad of Rajanna Sircilla, who weaved the logo of G20 within five days, said, “I was surprised when Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognised my work.” Hosting the summit is a great honour for India. He mentioned that his business had doubled after the mention on Mann ki Baat.
Farmer Chithala Venkat Reddy shared his efforts of Vitamin-D fortified paddy cultivation and received applause from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Lokini Srinivas, who established a power plant that uses vegetable waste to generate electricity at the Bowenpally vegetable market, said Modi’s mention in Mann ki Baat gave them immense support. “After Mann ki Baat, we got recognisation across the nation,” he said.
Meera Shenoy, working for the employment of differently abled persons, Ch. Santosh Kumar, creator of Amrit Sarovar in Mankyavalya thanda, Perini dancer Raj Kumar Naik, Druva Space founder Sanjay Nekkanti were present.
