Hyderabad police drop BSNL, shift to Airtel
Hyderabad: The city police said on Sunday that it had shifted to Airtel due to frequent call drops and poor signal with BSNL. The phone numbers would be replaced in a phased manner. The plan with the new service provider was better and came at half the price, Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand said on Sunday.
The new series of phone numbers for the city police will start from 87126-60-XXX and 87126-61-XXX. In these two series, the last three digits would be arranged in a logical order for the convenience of the general public and easy identification.
The new series will come into operation from August 15. The current numbers of frontline police officers will be continued for a month, Anand said.
