TPCC petitions Governor to dismiss BRS inclined' health director

HYDERABAD: TPCC vice-presidents Mittakanti RG Vinod Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday wrote to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan seeking removal of Dr Gadala Srinivasa Rao, director of Telangana health and medical department, for allegedly associating himself with the ruling party.

They stated that Dr Rao had violated rules and regulations by announcing that he would contest in the general elections on a BRS ticket. Rao had attended a meeting of GSR Trust held on Sunday where he announced his candidature.
"For a person holding a position in the government, he spoke as a political leader. We request you to consider removing him from the service," they said.

They said that the government did not transfer Rao in eight years.

"People are suffering from communicable diseases and the health department director is speaking about politics in public gatherings," Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged.
