Visakhapatnam: In a significant move aimed at improving environmental conditions in the vicinity of Visakhapatnam Port, the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and the Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation have joined forces through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU was formally inked by VPA chairperson M. Angamuthu and Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation managing director Rajshekhar Reddy.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to combat air pollution and promote the generation of carbon credits while simultaneously enhancing the overall environmental quality surrounding the port.
As per the terms of the MoU, the Andhra Pradesh Greening & Beautification Corporation will focus on expanding greenery in and around the areas adjacent to VPA. This will include the creation of green belts, beautification of meridians, and the improvement of junction areas.
