Hyderabad: A 38-year-old woman head constable who was on her way home after duty allegedly drowned in a nala near the Ram temple in Kothagudem, on Saturday.
The victim, R. Sridevi, posted at the Kothagudem One Town police allegedly accidentally slipped into the nala on Saturday afternoon. She was walking from the parking lot at the Ram temple towards Annadana Satram, police said.
The locals informed Kothagudem police who went to the scene with the District Disaster Response Force (DRF) and started a rescue operation. They retrieved her body 30 metres away from the spot.
