Andhra Pradesh defers ban on flexi banners to January 26

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has deferred implementation of ban on flexi banners to January 26 from November 1 based on a request from the makers of such banners in the state.

As the makers of flexi banners sought some time to get the requisite technology and for change of machinery, the officials took their plea to the notice of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who in turn responded positively and deferred implementation of ban to January 26.

The CM has also directed the officials to extend all support in terms of technology to the makers in addition to sanction of loan up to Rs 20 lakh at 25 paise interest rate to make changes to the machinery as per the requirement.

The state government has taken the decision to impose a ban on making and usage of flexi banners from November 1 earlier as part of its efforts to safeguard the environment.
