Don’t keep quiet on harassment, girls told
Warangal: Police Training College principal G. Sunith Mohan urged girls and women to report harassment and bring it to the attention of parents and police so
that the culprits can be punished.
She was the chief guest at an awareness programme ‘Atrocities on Women’
conducted by the Women Empowerment Cell of the SRR Government Arts and
Science College in association with Hamara Unnath Marg, an NGO, at the
college in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha advised students to focus more on their
studies and career. She said students must develop professional skills to
enable them to empower themselves. She also told them to grab plenty of job
opportunities to become financially independent in life.
The police officer asked girl students to install the HawkEye app on their
mobile phones. She asked them to dial 100 if they face any problems or
harassment from anyone. Details of the students who make a phone call for
help will be kept secret and will not be disclosed, she assured.
