HYDERABAD: Justice K. Surender of the Telangana High Court on Monday extended till January 23, the stay on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) notice issued under Section 41A Cr PC to BJP secretary B.L. Santosh, Tushar Vellapally, Jaggu Swamy and Karimnagar advocate Bhusarapu Srinivas.
The petitioners had moved a lunch motion request before Justice Surender seeking an extension of the stay, which had expired on December 30.
However, Justice Surender sought to know from senior counsel D. Prakash Reddy, representing Santosh, whether or not the cause still survived as the poachgate investigation had been entrusted to the CBI, and the orders constituting the SIT quashed. Prakash Reddy replied that the order of Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy that entrusted the probe to the CBI was suspended till the certified copy of the order was received.
