AP Pension Hike Historic, says Ex-Minister Avanti
Visakhapatnam: Former minister and Bheemili MLA Mutamsetti Srinivasa Rao (Avanti) described AP increasing the pension for senior citizens to Rs 3,000 as historic and highest in the country.
Distributing the enhanced pension in Gidijala in Anandapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam district on Tuesday, Srinivas said following the footsteps of his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy has extended social welfare schemes to lower rungs of the society and fulfilled the promises he made to people prior to the 2019 elections.
Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam district collector Dr. A. Mallikarjuna inaugurated the second phase of Jagananna Arogya Suraksha at Vellanki in Anandapuram mandal. MLA Srinivas presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas said the first phase of Suraksha was successful in Visakhapatnam. He underlined that during the second phase, 551 camps will be held in urban areas and 54 in villages.
The MLA said each camp will have four doctors, including two specialists, apart from medicine counters. He said in urban areas, 72 types of tests will be conducted and 172 types of medicines will be supplied to patients. In rural areas, 92 types of medicines will be given.
