CPI Leaders Meet CM, Aim to Defeat BJP, BRS in LS Polls
Hyderabad: CPI leaders met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the Secretariat on Tuesday and discussed strategy to defeat the BJP and the BRS in the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana.
CPI state secretary and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, CPI national secretary K. Narayana, former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy and other leaders were part of the delegation which met the Chief Minister.
Official sources said that the CM and CPI leaders opined that the pre-poll alliance between the Congress and the CPI for the recent Assembly polls helped a lot in dethroning the BRS government in Telangana besides confining the BJP to single digit strength in the Legislative Assembly.
They said the Congress and the CPI are part of I.N.D.I.A bloc which is waging a battle against the BJP-led NDA and expressed confidence that this coalition will wipe out the BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The CPI leaders reportedly expressed happiness at the Congress government initiating the process of implementing the Six Guarantees within a month of coming to power in Telangana. They said the CPI will extend complete support to the Congress government in the implementation of welfare schemes and development programmes.
