Home Guard from Kukatpally traffic police station returns lost girl to parents

The four-year-old girl was unable to recall any of her parents' details except some concerning her father's work.

Hyderabad: Another Home Guard, Jahangir Patel, from the Kukatpally traffic police station, plays the role of a good samaritan by extending his support to help a little girl by searching for her parents.

On Sunday morning, while performing his duties near Forum mall, he found a girl crying at the JNTUH signal and handed her over to her parents after a 45-minute search.

The four-year-old girl was unable to recall any of her parents’ details except some concerning her father’s work. She only remembered that her father is a watchman.

The Home Guard started a search for her parents with the hint given by the young girl and within 45 minutes of searching in nearby areas he found them and handed over the girl.

Jahangir Patel, 50, told the newspaper, “I was performing my duty today near Forum mall as a lot of traffic is generally witnessed here on Sunday. While working I saw this girl who was crying and looking for her parents. But she was unable to recall any details as she was quite young. I started the search by asking everyone if they knew the girl, I even waited outside the mall in case her parents had lost the girl there, but nobody turned up.”

He adds, “I was holding her hand and was performing my duties. After a long search we found her father and I handed over his daughter. Whenever there is red signal I often counsel the commuters to wear helmets and follow traffic rules properly."

The policeman believes that if everyone will work with passion they will never feel the burden of their work no matter how difficult the work is. He also believes in humanity and helping others in need.
