2BHK: BJP Plans 'Maha Dharna' On July 10
KARIMNAGAR: Even after completing nine years of ruling, the BRS government did not fulfill the promise of distribution of double-bedroom houses to the shelter-less poor families, alleged the BJP senior leader and convenor of the Double Bedroom Houses Struggle Committee (DBHSC), Polsani Sugunakar. He was speaking to the media persons here in Karimnagar on Sunday.
If the BRS government did not distribute the houses within a week then the members of the association along with the poor families are going to stage a massive 'maha dharna' on July 10 in front of the Collectorate demanding the government to fulfill their promise, he warned.
Before going to elections in 2014, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao promised people that after coming to power, the government would distribute double-bedroom houses to all shelter-less poor families but deceived them after coming to power, he added.
The BJP government constructed 52 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana scheme in the country along with sanctioning 72,000 houses to the Telangana government in urban areas and 1.2 lakh houses in rural areas and allocated Rs 190 crore for the purpose, he reminded
Whereas the state government which promised to construct around 5.75 lakh houses including 24,000 in Karimnagar district neither took up the construction works nor utilised the funds released by the central government, he alleged
BJP leaders T. Hari Krishna Goud, Bethi Mahendar Reddy, Sujatha Reddy and Lingampalli Shankar were also present on the occasion.
